Seed Map Last Update: October 23, 2022 (MC 1.19) Drop level.dat anywhere... How to Make Use of Troubleshooting If none of these options works, please let us know via the comments. Include your seed, version, and coordinates. Common user errors If your game world isn't a match for the map, it could be due to one of these: You entered the wrong seed or coordinates - you selected the wrong edition or version (the one that generates the area you are looking at) You used mods or resource packs that affect the generation of worlds - (for slime chunks) you didn't have time enough, as slime chunks have a low spawn rate, even in slime chunks Mixed version worlds If you started your world using an older version of the app it's necessary to switch between the versions of the app. Always select the version that was used to generate the chunks you're looking at. Coastlines Versions 1.18 and up don't have perfect coastlines. Mundoimg.com This isn't an issue. The map shows the biomes that are underneath, not the exact terrain. Near coastlines, oceans and river biomes usually have land, while land biomes can be underwater. Limitations are known Some features aren't 100 100% accurate. For instance, certain locations could be inaccurate or not present. This includes: -- Dungeons - End Cities on Bedrock Edition World Spawn Positions - Amethyst Geodes (near caves, mineshafts, etc.) Various other structures such as villages and igloos may fail to generate in-game as well, but this will be less frequent than for the features mentioned above. Requirements Seed For technical reasons, you have to know the seeds of your own world before you can use Seed Map and, unless of course, you wish to find a seed for the creation of a new world. If you're playing SSP and the app will fetch the seed from your savegame. Alternately, you can make use of the /seed command while playing. In SMP, you can use the same command if you have sufficient rights. Otherwise, however, you're dependent on the server owner, who initiated the server and has access to the savegame and configuration files. Browser This application uses relatively modern web technologies that are relatively new. This means that some features may be disabled for older browsers. I suggest that you use the most current version of a popular browser, such as Chrome, Firefox Edge, Edge, Safari, Edge, or Safari. Use Seed Selection The first step is to select the seed and a version. You can either type it in manually, or you can load it from your savegame. The latter can be accomplished by clicking "Load from Save ..." and selecting your level.dat or by dropping the level.dat file into your browser window. Level.dat is a small file located in the folder of each Minecraft savegame. You can find the savegames in the saves folder of your Minecraft installation. On Windows you can use %appdata%\.minecraft\saves to get to that folder. You should also be aware that seeds are always an integer (up to 20 digits). Any other input like letters will be converted into numbers. The app does this in the same way Minecraft does, and therefore it's safe to use letters (and other characters) as well. Dimension and Features Selection Below the seed and version, you are able to choose the Minecraft dimension you want to view (Overworld, Nether or End). This and the version you're using will determine which features are available to enable. To toggle specific features, click the icons in the feature box just above the map. You can also expand or collapse features box by clicking the button on the right of the box. This will show the full names of the features, as well as some more options. Some features may not be apparent If you zoom in close enough. This is to make the app speedy and not overflow it with icons. The app will show an alert and all features affected will be highlighted once that happens. Navigation After you've entered all of the options you can start using the map. Scroll using your arrow keys to move your cursor towards the map. You can also move your mouse around while you hold down the left mouse button. You can utilize the slider below the map or your mousewheel for zooming. You can zoom in on a particular point (e.g. your base) and place markers there using the lower inputs. You can always remove and add the marker by double clicking on the map. The "Save Map" button allows you to save the displayed map as a png file. Selecting the right site for your structure You can click or tap on the icons on the map to see their exact coordinates within the game. For some structures, additional details are shown as well. Touchscreen You'll also see an option to enable or disable touchscreen control underneath the map, if you're using a phone with touchscreen capabilities. You can drag the map with your fingers to navigate. You can pinch the map to zoom in or out. Tap and hold to put a marker on the map. Double-tap the map to turn on or off this functionality.
